SLATER ASSESSOR DIED SUDDENLY

CHRIST TWEEDT PASSED AWAY IN LUTHERAN HOSPITAL EARLY TODAY

Special to the Journal.
Slater, July 2--Christ Tweedt, 57, local assessor, died at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines early today.

Tweedt, who had not been well for some time, was taken to the hospital Saturday, examination developed ulcers of the stomach and he was operated upon Sunday.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Tweedt, pioneers of the Huxley neighborhood, he leaves besides his wife and three children, the parents and several brothers and sisters.

The children are Carrol 21, Angeline 18 and Irwin 15.

Funeral arrangements have not been made but the services will likely be held at Bethlehem church either Wednesday or Thursday.

Mr. Tweedt, who was a carpenter by trade, served the town of Slater as assessor for some time.
