William Charles Clark was born June 18, 1917 to William Daniel and Ann M. (Ruebe) Clark in Chicago, Illinois. William graduated Iowa State College with Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Engineering and Agricultural Engineering. William and Wanda Mecaskey were married on February 13, 1943 in Chicago. He then entered military service with the United States Air Force from 1943 until November of 1945. William was part owner of a drug store in Ames into the 1970's. He was a member of the American Legion, Ames Elks Club, 8th Air Force Historical Society, 3rd Strategic Air Depot Association and Alpha Tau Omega.

William passed away May 21, 2014 at 96 years of age.

William is survived by his children, William Clark, of Gilbert, Jean (Rex) Reinking, of Cedar Rapids, Ann (Eugene) Carnes, of Los Angeles, California and James (Karen) Clark of Ames, nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda; his sisters, Jean Rudy and Dorothy Golden; and his grandson, William "Billy" C. Clark.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Story County Freedom Flight, 126 S. Kellogg, Suite 2, Ames, Iowa 50010.
