HERMAN R. THOMAS

Herman R. Thomas, 94, a former resident of Roland IA and Nevada IA, died Saturday, March 26, 1988, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines IA.

He was born Sept. 16, 1893, at McCallsburg IA to Frank and Achsah (Hill) Thomas and lived in Story County IA for most of his lifetime.

Mr. Thomas was a farmer and carpenter.

He was married the Evangeline Tesdell in 1922.

He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada, and was a World War I veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Evangeline; two daughters, Virginia Hill of Des Moines and Martha Olson of Springfield MO; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Herman Thomas Jr., who died in 1976.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, from Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., Nevada, with Brad Braley officiating.

Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, March 29, at the mortuary.
