DOROTHY CLIFFORD

Dorothy Clifford, 82, of Nevada, died Sunday, January 17, 1902 at Story County Hospital.

She was born Feb. 12, 1899 in Wheatland, Iowa, the daughter of Johnathan and Minnie Hayes Hover. She graduated from Wheatland High School and Cornell College.

On March 20, 1920, she married Herme Clifford in Des Moines, and had lived in Story County since 1930. Mrs. Clifford taught school in Colesburg and Ankeny and was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she taught a Sunday School class for 14 years.

She is survived by a son, Clayton of Nevada, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hermes, in 1974.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with Pastor William Bass officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

The family will meet friends at the Ryan Funeral Home Monday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
