Herman R. Thomas, Jr., son of Roland couple, died Wednesday

Dr. Herman R. Thomas, Jr., Fond Du Lac, Wisc., died Wednesday afternoon at his home of a heart attack. He was 44. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Herman R. Thomas of Roland.

Services will be held from the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland on Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. Olaf Holen will officiate with burial in the Nevada Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada until noon Saturday.

Born Dec. 26, 1931 in Nevada he had been a resident of Fond Du Lac for the past 15 years. He graduated from the Roland High School in 1949, Iowa State in 1953 and the University of Iowa Medical College in 1960. He joined the Wiley-Smith Clinic in Fond Du Lac in 1961 and was a member of the Academy of Family Practice.

Survivors include his parents; two sisters: Mrs. Virginia (Lucas) Hill of Des Moines and Mrs. Martha (Robert) Oleson of St. Louis, Mo.; two nephews and two nieces.
