July 29, 1913 to March 17, 1991

Beulah M. Smith, 77, of Nevada died of pneumonia March 17, 1991, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

She was born July 29, 1913, in Hampton to Arthur and Mable (Stackhouse) Thompson. She had lived in Nevada the past 60 years and was a retiree of Iowa Electric in Nevada. She married Bernice Smith in 1931 at Omaha, Neb. She was a member of Nevada First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two son, Art of Nevada and Bill of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Pat Haddock of Nevada; four grandchildren; two brothers, LaVern Thompson of Hampton and Chuck Thompson of San Jose, Calif.; and one sister, Mary Schwebke of Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1977, four brothers and four sisters.

Graveside services were held March 20 at Nevada Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
