BABE DROWNED IN A WASH BOILER

TRAGIC ENDING OF LITTLE ONE IN ROY BECKLEY FAMILY SUNDAY.

Toppling over into a wash boiler setting under the eaves of the family home, little Marjum Roy Beckley, 17 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Beckley, was drowned Sunday morning between 11 and 12.

The little one had gone out with other children to play and had bee gone from the home but a very short time when on the of children went out to look for him. He was found, wedged, face downward in the boiler, with his face under about 5 inches of water.

The body was at once removed from the boiler and everything done to rescuitate him but to no avail and all efforts on the part of the doctor who was hastily summoned failed in bring back the spark of life in the little bidy.

The Beckleys live on the Tom Henrehan farm southeast of the city and the drowned lad was the youngest of the five children, he being about 17 months of age.

The case is a most tragic and sad one and the family is nearly frantic over the sad ending of the little one.

No definite arrangements had been made at noon today regarding the time or place of holding the funeral service.

Obituary of Little Marjum Roy Beckley

The funeral service for little Marjum Roy Beckley, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Beckley, was held from the house Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, they being in charge of Rev. V. Hart, pastor of the Christian church of this city. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery. Marjum Roy Beckley was born near this city June 18, 1922, and died from accidental drowning Sunday, November 3, 1924. The babe had been wedged in by and his mother who had recently returned home after undergoing a very serious surgical operation, and had been out of the house but a few minutes when he was found toppled over in a boiler containing a few inches of water. The babe had been wedged in by his clothing and life was extinct when he was found. The parents receive a measure of sympathy from the neighbors and friends in their hours of deep bereavement.
