From unknown newspaper August 1952
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 7, at Bethesda Lutheran church, Ames, Iowa for Walter Paulson, former Nevada resident, who died at his home in Ames at 528 Lincoln Way, Monday August 4. Mr. Paulson had not been in good health for several years, and he died from a heart attack while peacefully sleeping at about 9 a. m.
Services were in charge of Rev. Paul Boe who offered words of comfort to those assembled. Mrs. Duane Mickelson sang two vocal selections, accompanied by Mrs. Louise Childs at the organ. The many floral offerings were arranged in a beautiful setting. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.
Relatives from Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri and California were among those who attended the services from a distance.
Mr. Paulson was a man of ever-cheerful greeting, whether a friendly wave from his truck or a chance meeting on the street. He had a talent for conversation and interest in his fellow man that won for him many warm friends throughout his life span.
In addition, Mr. Paulson was sincerely interested in the welfare of not only his children and 10 grandchildren, but those of friends and relatives as well. To these children, some now grown, who had gained an early affection for Walter, he well be deeply missed.
