M. H. Toms, of Nevada, died

M.H. Toms, 86, Nevada died Saturday at 12:45 p.m. at the Maurie Borton Rest Home where he had been a resident for the past two years.

Funeral services have been set for Tuesday, Feb. 26 from the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Dendler officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Born July 7, 1872, in Bloomington, Ill., Mr. Toms had been a resident in Story County for the past 62 years. A retired farmer, he served as a member of the North Grant School Board for 12 years.

Survivors included three sons, Lawrence of Nevada, Ted of Boone and Clyde of Ames; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Kyle of Ames, 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Emma, in 1945, a son, John, and a daughter, Mrs. Violet Wirtz.
