Mrs. John (Fay) Schauper, 79, of McCallsburg died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dale Manning of Conrad after an illness of a year. She had lived with her daughter the past year.

Mrs. Schauper was born in July 1882 in Warren Township near McCallsburg to Mr. and Mrs. John Peck. She was married in June of 1900 and had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June of 1960. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Kensington Club.

Survivors include her husband John; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Twedt of Bettendorf and Mrs. Dale (Mary) Manning of Conrad; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Millard Peck of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Goss of Blairstown and Mrs. Leila Mills of McCallsburg. One daughter, Hazel preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m.Thursday at the Presbyterian Church in McCallsburg with the Rev. Donald Jafvert of Grundy Center officiating. Burial will be in the Warren Township cemetery near McCallsburg.

Friends may call at the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing until time of services.
