John Schauper died Friday*

John Schauper, 83, died Friday* morning at the Gilmore Nursing Home, Nevada, where he had been a resident four years.

Born at Sycamore, Ill., he had been a Zearing resident most of his lifetime and had farmed near McCallsburg until his retirement.

Mr. Schauper is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Twedt, Bettendorf and Mrs. May Manning of Conrad; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye, who died in 1962, a daughter, three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the McCallsburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard B. Miller officiating. Burial will be in McCallsburg Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Brouhard Funeral Home, Zearing, until time for services.
