Eva Knapp Vail was born March 13, 1880 in Danbury, Conn. On Jan. 18, 1884, she was married to Abel C. Vail at Henry, Ill., and with her husband moved to Iowa in 1902. She affiliated with the Johnson Grove Methodist church and later with the Nevada Methodist church when they moved to Nevada in 1909.

Mr. Vail passed away, Feb. 13, 1929. For the past nine years Mrs. Vail had made her home at the Iow aLutheran Home in Madrid where she passed away, Feb. 16.

In March she would have been 91 years os age.

Surviving are two sons, Ira N. Vail of Fernald and Alfred C. Vail of Ames; one brother, Dr. A. A. Knapp of Winter Park, Florida; three grandchildren, Luther C. Vail of Mason City, Morris Vail of Buffalo, N. Y., and Mrs. H. R. Merrick, Jr. of Ames.

She also leaved four great grandchildren.
