Bernice Darlene Myers

Bernice Darlene Myers, 88, of Redlands, California formerly of Nevada died on Sunday, May 1 at Country Villa in Redlands, California. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 6 at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Steve Williams officiating.

Bernice was born May 22, 1916 in Grant Township, Story County Iowa to Edwin and Lydia (Ruch) Groomes. She graduated from Shipley High School. On March 29, 1934, Bernice married Lester O. Myers in Marshalltown. She was engaged in farming with her husband and also was employed and retired on November 23, 1979 from the R.H. Donnelley Corp. in Nevada. Bernice had been a resident of California since October of 1993. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. Bernice enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting and farming.

Bernice is survived by a son Jerry Dean Myers of Yucaipa, California; and a brother Dale Groomes of Centerville, Iowa.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester on June 22, 1994, and 3 brothers, Alvin, Glenn and Forest Groomes.

A memorial fund has been established.
