Jane Shoafstall
May 15, 1913 to Jan. 4, 2002Jane Shoafstall, 88, of Butler, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 4, at Medicalodge Nursing Center in Butler.
She was born May 15, 1913, to Albert Edwin and Lulu Klienmeyer Dutheridge in Nettle Creek, Ill. She worked as a school teacher in Illinois and also had her own professional photography business -- Jane's Studios, located in Nevada. She married Harold Dee Shoafstall on May 19, 1934. In 1996, she moved from Nevada to Kansas City, No., where she was a resident at Timberlake Nursing Home. In 1998, she moved to Medicalodge in Butler. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. She was a very social person, who loved all people, especially kids. She was an outdoorswoman. Her favorite kind of music was big band and she loved to dance.
Survivors include a son, Edwin (and Patricia) Shoafstall of Butler; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in the Alzheimer's Association. Schownegardt Funeral Chapel, Butler, handled arrangements.
