HENRY SHERK
Henry, 65, of Nevada, for over 60 years a resident of the community, died early Sunday, after an invalidism of over three years as a result of a paralytic stroke from which he never fully recovered.
Mr. Sherk wa born in South Dakota, April 6, 1872, and came to Story county with his parents shen a boy six years of age.
He was married to Miss Cora Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Wright, at the family home southeast of Nevada in 1897, and their home had been in Nevada since that time.
He was for many years manager of a local gas concern and later had charge of the pumping station of the Nevada water works department, until shortly before he suffered the stroke that made him an invalid.
He leaves besides his wife, one son Harry Sherk of Nevada, three daughters, Cera, now Mrs. Guy Hutchinson of Ames; Iola, now Mrs. Palmer Brendeland of Nevada, and Evelyn, now Mrs. Clayton Taylor of west of Nevada; one sister Mrs. Mabel Tesdall of Huxley and two brothers, Will Sherk of Chicago and John Sherk of Wisconsin. He also leaves two grandchildren.
