Mrs. Carrie Hill Died Early Today; Funeral Friday
Mrs. Carrie Hill, 74, died at 12:30 a. m. at her home at 728 D avenue, after a lingering illness, following injuries sustained in a fall several months ago.
Funeral rites will be held Friday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock at Memorial Lutheran church with her pastor Dr. J. O. Simon in charge. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband Henry Hill, who died in 1908.
She was a native of Etna, Norway, Europe, where she was born February 28, 1864.
Shortly after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Hill established their home on D avenue an there she had continued to live for over 49 years.
Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hill, both surviving their parents: they being Louis E. Hill of Nevada who had continued to live with his mother and Anna, now Mr. Reinhard Dirksen of Tampa, Texas.
The daughter had been called here shortly after the mother was injured and remained with her until she appeared to be making satisfactory recovery. She left for her Texas home and had just arrived there, when word reached her that the mother had suffered a relapse and the Dirksens returned at once, reaching here the first of the week.
Mrs. Hill was a woman of fine character, industrious, charitable to hall and devoted to her home and family and was highly respected by her neighbors and a wide circle of friends gained during her long residence in Nevada.
She was a longtime and active member of Memorial Lutheran church.
