CLIFFORD PADELLFORD

Clifford Padellford, 70, a former resident and mayor of Nevada, died Friday, April 15, 1983 in Tucson, Ariz.

Padellford was born on November 16, 1912. He was in the restaurant business in Nevada for many years. He served six terms as the mayor of Nevada before moving to Des Moines in 1954.

Padellford is survived by his wife, Vere; three daughters, Dolores Townsley, Sondra McPherson and Mary Lou Hartman, all of Des Moines; three sisters and one brother; and 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19 at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. The family will be at the Donald Nelson home, 1117 H Ave., Monday evening from 7-8 p.m. for visitation.

Cooper Funeral Home, Maxwell, is in charge of the arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.
