RICHARD GLEN APPELGATE

Richard Glen Appelgate, 42, of 639 17th St., Nevada IA, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1986, at Mary Greeley Medical Center to Ames IA. Death was due to cancer.

Mr. Appelgate was born Feb. 14, 1944 in Ames to Glen and Evelyn (McNatton) Appelgate.

He was married to Catherine Birchmeier.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; his father, Glen; two sons, Scott and Stacy, both of Nevad; two daughters, Nicole Appelgate and Erin Appelgate, both of Nevada; a brother, Ralph of Nevada, and a sister, Carole Trantham of Vinton IA.

He was preceded in dath by his mother and his grandparents.

Mr. Appelgate was employed by Donnelley Marketing of Nevada.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Nevada United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., Nevada.
