Arthur F. Huebner
Jan. 21, 1895 to Nov. 9, 1992

Arthur Fred Huebner, 97, Nevada died of heart failure at Story County Long Term Car.

He was born to George and Mary (Lange) Huebner at Stratford on Jan. 21, 1895. He married Bertha Johannsen on Nov. 24, 1920 at Clinton. He lived in Nevada for the past 71 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was last employed as a custodian at Atomic Research, retiring in 1965. He was a member of of Nevada's First Christian Church, the VFW and World War I Barracks. He is thought to be the last surviving veteran of World War I in Story County.

Survivors include a daughter, Geraldine Sorensen of Nevada; a son, Wayne E. Huebner of Marengo; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister, four brothers, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services are being held today (Nov. 12) at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Fred Danforth of Firat Christian Church is the officiating pastor. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
