Rites set for Ruth Hughes

Mrs. Ruth Jones Hughes, Gilbert, died at Mary Greeley Hospital at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Born at Story City, she had been a Gilbert resident since 1908, where she operated a sundries store for a number of years.

Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Gilbert Congregational Church, of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, and the Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ora Wakefield, Route 1, and two brothers, Earl Jones, San Francisco, Calif. and Ralph Jones, Boone.

Her husband, Andrew, died in May 1940.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Gilbert Congregational Church with the Rev. H. Clay Lumpkins, officiating. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery.

Tho body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral Home until noon, Wednesday.
