Services set for John Carlson

John P. Carlson, 77, Nevada, died about 5 p.m. Sunday at his home after an illness of about six weeks.

Born in Des Moines, he had been a farmer in Polk and Story Counties most of his life. He had lived in STroy County for the past 33 years.

Mr. Carlson married Nelle Aunspach Feb. 26, 1915 at Bondurant. He was a member of the Nevada Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie; three sons, John Carlson of Talkestna, Alaska, Donald Carlson of Colo and Glen Carlson of Lena, Ill; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Rold, Bellevue, Neb.; eight grandchildren and a sister, Gertrude Carlson of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the Nevada Methodist Church with the Rev. M. C. Shupe officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada.
