Services Friday for John Walker

John T. Walker, 83, Nevada died this morning at the Story County Hospital in Nevada. He had been a patient there for the past three months.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Marvin L. Hulse officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Mr. Walker was born Feb. 24, 1890 at Lacona. He was a retired automobile dealer and had been a resident of Story County since 1918.

Mr. Walker was married to Cordia Bennette in 1906 at Milo.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. LaVon Hunter of Clear Lake; two grandsons, John and Brayan Walker, both of Ames and two granddaughters, Dr. DeeRae Eaton, Pelham Manor, N.Y. and Nancy Walker, Ames; three great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Sugarman, Los Angeles, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and a son, J.B. Walker who died in 1972.
