Wayne Alan Kurschinski was born October 20, 1950 to Sidney Kurschinski and Helen Hannon in Des Moines, Iowa. Wayne served in the United States Army and worked as an employee trainer for the State of Iowa. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for over 5 years, making 3 trips to El Salvador. Wayne was Habitat Volunteer of the Year in 2013. He also volunteered at Life Serve Blood Center, Blank Children’s Hospital and helped with the Festival of Trees and Lights. Wayne enjoyed his time spent with friends at the Boone County Speedway and was an avid collector of Mickey Mouse memorabilia.

Wayne passed away at his home in Ames on August 30, 2013 at 62 years of age.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Pamela Sue Kurschinski Gardner of Ames; his daughters, Carlene Kurschinski of Brooklyn, New York and Sydne Kurschinski of Des Moines; his son, Alan Kurschinski of Ames, one brother, Steven Kurschinski of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his mother, Helen Hannon of Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by his father.
