June E. Egland
June 20, 1929, to Sept. 22, 2002June E. Egland, 73, of Story City, died of pulmonary hypertension on Sept. 22 at Bethany Manor Nursing Home.
She was born June 20, 1929, in Blue Earth, Minn., to Willie and Jurine (Vallem) Michaelson. She grew up in Buffalo Center and Nevada, before moving to a farm north of Roland where she lived until moving to Story City in 1991. She married Glen Egland on April 17, 1946. She was employed at Gandrup Pharmacy in Nevada for 17 years before retiring in 1994. She was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church, the Ruth Circle, ALCW, a former 4-H leader, Friends in Service and a Bethany Manor volunteer. She enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Glen of Story City; two daughters, Kathy Bailey of Williams and Julie Wagner of Kamrar; three sons, Arlin Egland, Randy Egland and David Egland, all of Story City; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mildred Murray of Moline, Ill., Dorothy Woodbury of Arlington, Va. and Virginia Marshall of Los Angeles, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter; one grandson, Steven Egland; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial was in the Roland Cemetery. Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story City, handled arrangements.
