Mrs. Bassett Dies of Heart Ailment

Mrs. Margaret Bassett, 806 8th St. died at 4:20 a.m. today at the Story County Hospital. Mrs. Bassett had been a patient there for the past three weeks after suffering a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home Friday, December 20, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. James Dendler officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Born March 25, 1886 in Danville, Ill., Mrs. Bassett was the daughter of Eli and Elizabeth Helmick.

She had been a resident of Nevada for the past 30 years, was a member of the Nevada Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, P.E.O. and a number of other social clubs.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ross G. Rector of Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana and Mrs. Patrick Donovan of Pocahontas, Iowa and three grandchildren, Robert R. Rector and Crispin and Michael Donovan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers and her husband, Lawrence R. Bassett, who died in 1958.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Heart Fund.
