L.R. Bassett, Of Nevada, Died

L. R. Bassett, 75, Nevada, died at about 3:30 p.m. yesterday in the Story County Hospital where he had been a patient for the last two and one-half weeks.

Born in Maxsell, Kan., Mr. Bassett came to Nevada 25 years ago. In 1954, he retired as cashier and executive vice president of the Nevada National Bank.

He was a member of the Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Rotary Club and Nevada Community Club.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Mrs. Constance Rector, Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Carol Donovan, Pocahontas and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada. The Rev. James Dendler will officiate. Burial is to be in Nevada Cemetery.
