James W. Forbes, son of Cashius and Barbara Forbes, was born on Aug. 20, 1885 at Richmond, Ky. and passed away Aug. 23, 1959 at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 23 days.

As a young man he moved to Bloomington, Ill. On Feb. 6, 1908 he was united in marriage to Mary Francis Rainey at Normal, Ill. Seven children were born to this union; six sons and a daughter.

After a residence of a few years in Illinois, the Forbes family moved to Mitchell County, Iowa, where Mr. Forbes engaged in farming.

In 1929 the family moved to the Nevada community where for many years Mr. Forbes was an employee of the Nevada Poultry Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sons: Fonald who was killed in Korea, and Carl who died in infancy.

Surviving are his wife Mary, of Nevada, Harry of Nevada, Edward of Escondido, Calif., Earl of Nevada, and his daughter, Mrs. Keith (Bonnie) Christy of Nevada. One sister, Mrs. O. N. Cleveland of Mitchell, Iowa, thirteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild also survive.
