Louise Dengler
October 18, 1923 - April 15, 2013

Louise Dengler was born in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Frank Emerson and Louise Jaggard Brown. She graduated from Ames High and Iowa State College, then moved to New York for graduate studies. On September 1, 1948, Louise was ordained as a minister in the Congregational Church. She served churches in Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. Louise was married to Gregor Drummond Dengler on August 24, 1948.

Louise sang with the choir at UCC Ames, and the Ames Choral Society, and volunteered for many organizations. She served as treasurer for the Ames Crop Walk for decades. Louise donated 20 gallons of blood to those in need.

Louise passed away at her home early Monday morning, April 15, 2013. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Frank Brown.

She is survived by one son, Gregor (Marlys) Dengler, Jr. of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Mary Dengler and Laura (Gary) Deal, both of Ames; four grandsons, Marvin Lande, Jr, Robert Deal, Bryon Deal and Richard Dengler; two great-granddaughters, Jessica Lande and Shelby Appelgate; and her brother, Holmes M. Brown.
