Lorene Ordella Eittreim

Lorene Eittreim, 85, of Story City, died of a stroke on Feb. 12, 2001 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City with Rev. Jim Norem officiating. Burial was in the Story City Cemetery.

Lorene Ordella Eittreim was born on Oct. 10, 1915 in Hamilton County, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Lena (Bratteig) Swenson. She married Kenneth O. Eittreim on Nov. 27, 1941 in Princeton, Missouri. She lived in Story City since 1984 and Radcliffe prior to that. She was a homemaker and an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, Marlyn Ettriem of Wichita Falls, Texas; one daughter, Gaynell O'Donnell of Ames; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Story City and Gladys Huibsch of Iowa Falls; two brothers, Earl Swenson of Story City and Wesley Swenson of Stewartville, Minnesota; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 16, 1990; one sister and two brothers.
