TWO PIONEERS LAID TO REST

RASMUS RASMUSSEN AND MRS. MARTHA GRONSTAD, OCTOGENARIANS, LAID TO REST

Two of the oldest citizens of this community have passed away and have been taken to their last resting place, Rasmus Rasmusson, who died at the age of 81 years, and Mrs. Martha Gronstad, who reached over 88 years.

Rasmus Rasmusson died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. S. Danielson, Tuesday, June 8, at the age of 80 years.

The funeral was held from the home in Roland and Bergen church Friday afternoon, Rev. M. O. Sumsted conducting the service, and he was buried in the Roland cemetery. Among those from out of town at the funeral, were Mr. and Rasmus Rasmusson and family, Mrs. Rasmus Edwinson, Mrs. Ellen Centers, and Mrs. Mabel Winders and children of Marshalltown; Mrs. Richard Rierson of Kandiyohi, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rhodes and Miss Maxind Rhodes of Marengo; Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Fitch, Ole Peterson, Mrs. Sena Hudson, and Mrs. Severie Kinsey of Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Kahrs, Mrs. Peter Anderson and son, Ole, and Mrs. Ole Ritland of Story City; Prof. J. J. Feroe and Ed. Edwinson of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Rasmusson of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Osmund Rasmusson, R. O. Rasmusson, and A. Edwinson of Randall; Mr. and Mrs. Elias Rasmusson of Iowa Falls.
