CHARLES F. KOOSER
Charles F. Kooser suffered a heart attack Sunday afternoon, following the Memorial services, which he had attended in the park. He had been in ill health for several years.
He was born June 5, 1875, on a farm in the northeast part of this county and moved to Ames when he was a young man. His parent settled in this county as pioneers. His education was obtained in the rural schools of the county. He started his first news stand in Ames and in it was the first library the town enjoyed. Of recent years he has been associated with grocery firms of the city.
He was a member of the Methodist church, I.O.O.F. lodge and a charter member of tha Ames volunteer fire department. He married Grace E. Lang June 14, 1898, at Ames.
He is survived by his widow, three sons Harold and Ted of Ames, and Charles of DesMoines. Other survivors include two brothers, J. Bert Kooser of Ames, and M. C. Kooser of Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. Burt Dodds, Ortonville, Minn., and two grandchildren, Teddy and Judy of Ames.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, with the Rev. A. H. Barker in charge; burial in the Ames cemetery.
