Death

Gladys Lenora Johnson

Gladys Lenora Johnson, 90, of Story City, died of congestive heart failure on Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Manor Chapel with Chaplain Sandy Anenson and Pastor Tom Reuss officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Gladys was born Oct. 18, 1910 in Story City to Samuel Lewis and Ella T. (Erickson) Larson. She married Bervin Johnson on Feb. 20, 1936. Gladys was a lifetime resident of the Story City area and was a nurse's aid at the Story City hospital. She was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce O'Connell of Fort Dodge and Leona Smith of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Winifred Larson, Theodore Larson, Lester Larson, Ingram Larson, and Sherman Larson; and two sisters, Anna Johnson and Ruth Larson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City at 9:30 a.m.
