Mrs. E. C. Macy (Arminta Tilden) Dies in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania
Mrs. E. C. Macy, 69, former resident of Ames, Story County, Iowa died Monday evening, July 5, 1943, in a Bryn Mawr, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania hospital where she was taken two days ago. She had been ill several years of a heart ailment.

The daughter of Frederick C. Tilden and Emma Tilden, she was born December 12, 1873, at Manchester, Delaware County, Iowa. She grew up in Story County and attended Ray School near Ames, Ames High School and was graduated from Iowa State College in 1897.

Mrs. Macy taught at the Ray School for two years while attending college and after her graduation taught at Eldora, Hardin County, Iowa for two years. (She lived with her Uncle Charles Albrook and his family in Eldora while teaching).

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. On September 5, 1900 she was married to E. C. Macy in Ames. Mr. Macy of Pennsylvania survives as do a daughter, Mrs. Clinton J. Adams; a brother, Julius F. Tilden; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Tilden Poole; and three grandchildren: John, Bruce and Marna Adams, all of Ames. A son, Ted Macy, preceded her in death in 1928.

The funeral service and burial will be in Ames, but arrangements have not yet been completed.
