A Fatal Accident.

Friday of last week about half past eleven o'clock, Andre Roland, the twelve year old son of John Roland, met with terrible and fatal accident. During the two months last passed Andre has been "water boy" to the masons and laborers working on the stone culvert west of the depot grounds and during this time had been in the habit of jumping on the dirt train for little ride as it came in and went out of the yard. Friday he was standing on one of the tracks which had been raised up some five or six feet higher than one along side it, and on which the dirt train was standing. When the train stared to pull out Andre made an attempt to jump down into an open door of a box car. His feet just reached the edge of the car he fell back on the edge of the embankment and then rooled down it, under the wheels of the moving train. Both his legs were crushed--one of them from the foot to the thigh, the other from the foot to the knee. The shock was so grert to his nervous system that he suffered but little, if any pain, and a reaction did not take place. He died about three o'clock in the after noon of that day.
