Janet A. Charbonneau
July 11, 1939 - February 13, 2011

Janet Ann Charbonneau, 71 of Nevada, died on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames following a battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16 at the Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Church lounge. Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Utica IL.

Janet was born on July 11, 1939 in LaSalle, IL to John and Helen (Mortensen) Stewart. She received her bachelor's degree from Illinois State University. Janet taught school in Marseilles, IL. On October 12, 1968, she married George L. Charbonneau at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, IL. They resided in Milwaukee, Utica and later Nevada, IA where she worked for 21 years in the Story County Extension Office. Janet was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Esther Circle, Story County 4-H History Committee, Cyclone Country Holiday Ramblers RV Club, and Iowa Wild Rose Good Sam Club.

Janet is survived by her two daughters, Carrie (Chris) Moellers of Davenport and Cathie Raley of Nevada; 3 grand-children, Eric Moellers of Cedar Falls, Nick Moellers of Davenport, and William Raley of Nevada; one brother Jim (Roxanne) Stewart of Utica, IL; nephew Charles (JoAnn) Stewart and niece Jennifer Stewart.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her husband George on September 15, 2005.

A memorial fund has been established in Janet's name for the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames or the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.
Service:

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada, IA 50201 515-382-6509.

Cemetery:

Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Utica, Illinois
