Charles "Chuck" Main
BORN: June 4, 1921
DIED: May 13, 2011
LOCATION: Webster City, Iowa
Charles “Chuck” Main, 89, of Webster City died Friday, May 13, 2011 at his home. A visitation will be held at the Slater United Methodist Church Monday, May 16 from 5-7 p.m. with the funeral service taking place Tuesday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at the same location.
Charles was born on June 4, 1921 to Lewis and Helen (Netcott) Main near Independence, IA. He married Helen Tidball on August 26, 1942. He was a member of the Methodist Church for many years, first in Independence, then Slater, and finally in Webster City. Charles enjoyed traveling and camping. He always looked forward to the Old Threshers reunion which took place in Mt. Pleasant every year, as he was also a member of the Midwest Electric Railway Association of Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by his children, Dale (Martha) Main of Pittsburg, PA, Roger (Carol) Main of Webster City, IA, and Beverly Swift of Des Moines, IA; one sister, Margaret Kephart of Hazelton, IA; five grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Vassy, Matthew Main, Gary (Carry) Main, Julie (Scott) Petty, and David Swift; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua and Rachel Main, Jack Vassy, and Caden and Clara Petty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, one brother Paul, two sisters, Betty Huston and Irene Phillips and one great-grandson, Graham Petty.
