NEVADA, Jan. 8th, 1876.
Being called to investigate the cause of Mr. Jonathan Garbesons death I did not deem it necessary to hold an inquest, but made an examination of the ground where he was killed in company with Mr. Hunter, Adams and Sargent. Mr. Garbeson started for his timpbe for a load of wood. In crossing a piece of ice, his horses sliped and one fell. In his strugle the front bob was thrown around and Mr. Garbeson standing up (as it was his custom) was thrown out, his head striking on the nose of the runner, (being iron) made a fracture in the skull. Blood and hair was found where he first fell. It seems he got up and started toward home, after going some twelve rods he stagered and fell, where he was found some two hours afterward, not quite dead. He lived a few minutes afer reaching home. There was a great quantity of blood where he lay. There was no other marks about him. I consider it strictly accidental and no blame attached to any one.

IN MEMORIUM.

WHEREAS the Allwise Ruler of the Universe has seen fit to take from us by death our respected brother Jonathan Grabeson, and while we are willingly submit to him who doeth althings well, yet, we deeply feel the loss of our worthy brother. Therefore,
Resolved, That Pleasant Grove Grange deeply sympathize with the afflicted family and friends of our worthy brother in this, their dark and trying hour, fully believing that he has gone to reap his reward.
