From Story County Watchman March 21, 1902

Des Moines, March 20.--John Reynard, aged 45, was found dead in a room at the Des Moines hotel on East Fifth street Wednesday morning. He suffered the night before from tonsilitis and when advised to go to the hospital said he could not afford it. He leaves a wife and children at Ames.
