DIED.--Absolem Smay died in this city yesterday at the age of something over 80 years. Mr. Smay was a native of Maryland and came to Iowa in 1859, and located on a farm in Richland township, where he and his good wife toiled for many years, and, their home was always a place where the weary traveler found a square meal, a good bed, a god mother and when they left, a fatherly godspeed you on your journey. They moved to Nevada in 1892, and have since that time made their home in this city. He was one of the pioneers in the state and was well and favorably known to all old residents in the country. The funeral will be hald at the Lutheran church under the direction of Rev. Shrader assisted by Rev. Bunce, on Saturday at 10 a. m. Thus another old settler has been called to his reward.
