At a collision caused by the breaking in two of a freight train at what is known as Dayton Hollow in northwestern Iowa, Wm. Erb, a former resident of Ames, was killed and in the fire which resulted, the remains were burned. He was well known in the west part of Story county, and his many friends will be pained to learn of his untimely death.
