OBITUARY.
Died in Nevada, Iowa, Dec. 7th, 1879, after a protracted illness, Mrs. Elizabeth Ford, whose obsequies took place at her residence in this city on the 9th inst: Mrs. Ford was born in Morgan County, Ohio, September 13th, 1820, and there remained with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dye, until 1832, when she removed thence with them to Boone county, Indiana, near Zionsville. In 1837 she was married to Mr. John Ford, and with her husband lived in Howard County, Indiana, until the spring of 1853, when they moved to Jasper County, this state. There Mr. and Mrs. Ford resided till the spring of 1858, when Mr. Ford purchased the farm which situated near the site of the old town of New Albany, in New Albany township, this county, to which he, in a very short time afterwards, removed his family; and there the family is still living. Mrs. Ford survived her husband ---en years, and leaves a large and respectable family. She became united with the M. E. Church at an early period of life, and continued a consistent member of the same till her death. Her house was not only always open to the ministers of the gospel, but her hospitality was of a liberal christian character toward all, which can be observed in --- true and the good at all times.
