Mrs. Nancy McQuillen, whose maiden name was Humphrey, was born April 22nd, 1827, in Ashland Co., Ohio, where her early life was spent. August 24th, 1848, she was united in marriage with Alexander McQuillen. In September, 1865, the family emigrated to the state of Illinois, and two years later in the autumn of 1867 they moved to Iowa and settled in the vicinity of Colo, Story Co., where the family resided until March, 1884, when the old people bought a home and became residents of Nevada, where they have lived ever since. Sister McQuillen had a joyful experience of religious life about 35 years ago when she became a member of the Winebenarian church, or church of God, in which she had had membership ever since. Friday morning Jan. 26th, 1894, she peacefully fell asleep, after an illenss of some length. She was 66 years 9 months and 4 days old. Besides the sorrowing husband, she leaves eight children, four sons and four daughters, all of whom have the sympathy of the community. The funeral services were conducted Sunday forenoon from the Methodist church by Rev. J. R. Horswell.
