OBITUARY
MARY ANN HALL
Miss Mary Ann Hall, from early days a familiarly known resident of this community, died Monday forenoon at the home in this city of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Moore where she had been cared for for a number of years. She was 85 years of age last October, and for some six years she had been bed ridden or confined at best to a wheeled chair, in consequence of a fall in which she broke her hip. She was the youngest daughter of Alba Hall who was a veteran of the war of 1812 and who came to Nevada some sixty years ago and established his home on the corner of the Lincoln and Jefferson highways, where the Dayton and Knudson building now stands. The Alba Hall who used to play the fife of all the gathering of old soldiers was her elder half-brother, and Mrs. George Child was her sister. Miss Hall was never able to enter fully into the usual activities of life: but she inherited from her father a patrimony sufficient for her simply wants, and she lived comfortably for long and patient life. Since her injury she had been no longer seen upon the streets, and many people who had noted her occasionally during the passing years had had opportunity to forget about her. To such the news of her death will come as a matter of both interest and regret. She was the last survivor of her family in her own generation, but her family was a large one and the number of her collateral relatives is considerable.
