OBITUARY

C. J. MARTIN

Word was received here Wednesday by J. F. Martin of the death at Jefferson of his younger brother, C. J. Martin. The latter was fifty-two years of age and he had had an operation about two months ago, which did not work right and from the effects of which he died. The deceased was a resident of Nevada twenty years or so ago and was in the grocery business here. He went from here to Churdan in Greene county, where he established a bank and succeeded notably. Later he removed to Jefferson and established another bank and built himself a handsome residence there. In the passing years he has been an occasional visitor in Nevada, and his numerous Nevada friends learn of his death with both surprise and regret.
