Helen Mae Gladys Knutson, 86, of Story City, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Manor Chapel. Burial followed in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. There was a visitation of family and friends one hour preceeding the service.

Helen Knutson was born October 31, 1923 to Paul and Emma "Minnie' (May) Uhlig in Boone, Iowa. She married Jennings "Bud" Knutson on June 17, 1947. She worked at Hanson Lumber and was a Dietary Aide at Bethany Manor for 15 years. Helen was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, reading, and playing cards.

Helen is survived by her son, Bradley Wayne Knutson of Huxley, Iowa; two grandchildren, Jesse and his wife Kylie Knutson, and Sarah Knutson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant sister Rosemary.
