Evelyn Smith, age 91, of Story City died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at Bethany Manor in Story: City. Funeral services were held 200 p.m. Friday. Sept. 24, 2010 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell, Iowa. Burial followed at EVergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church. Becker Funeral and Cremation Service. of Jewell was caring for Evelyn and her family.

Evelyn Lois Krause was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on May 14, 1919. She grew up in Buckeye with her parents, Emil and Anna Krause, and brother Burl., She drove a school bus and worked for Rath Packing. in Waterloo. On June 21, 1952 Evelyn married Ernest Smith in Harmony. Minnesota. They came to Jewell in 1967 and owned and operated Smith Welding until retiring in 1989. Evelyn worked in the office with Ernie and helped out at an office in a Story City business.

She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. They have lived in Story City the past five years.

Evelyn is survived by her husband. Ernest of Story City. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Burl.
