THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, September 30, 2010.

Gary Douglas Freeman, 59, of Colo, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. No services are planned.

Gary was born July 6, 1951, in Streator, Ill., the son of Fred and Edna (Chisolm) Freeman. He graduated from high school and attended college for two years, earning an associate’s degree at IVCC. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps. He was a member American Quarter Horse Association.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug (Stefanie) Freeman and Dustin (Libby) Freeman, all of Minonk, Ill.; four grandchildren; six brothers; and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
