Sadie Belle Hagen, Mrs. John Otto d. Dec. 17, 1954
Sadie Belle Harrison Hagen was born August 19, 1881 near Shenandoah, Iowa, the second child of John and Sarah Harrison, and passed away December 17, 1954 at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 28 days.
She was raised a Methodist but was baptized a Lutheran after her marriage and after moving to Roland where she lived the greater part of her life.
She was united in marriage to the late John Otto Hagen in 1899, and to this union seven children were born. Hazel Irene, December 1917, and Harlan Jerrald, July 1923, who preceded her in death in early childhood, and Erma Selma, who passed on, October 25, 1941. Her husband passed away after a lingering illness in April 1925. Four children survive their wonderful mother: Orville of Roland, Gertrude (Mrs. Clarence C. Stoecker) of Waukesha, Wisc., Margaret (Mrs. Ernest Benson) of Los Angeles, Calif., and Bette (Mrs. Boris Meneghelli) of Sherman Oaks, Calif. She leaves five grandchildren, Margaret Stoecker, James Hagen, Donna Hagen, Sharon Benson and Lark Meneghelli. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. William White of Davenport, Iowa, and one brother, John Harrison of Toledo, Iowa. Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.
She had lived in California since 1942, making her home with her daughter, Bette, the last six years. She had enjoyed seeming good health but was suddenly taken seriously ill with a heart condition and entered the hospital where she passed away the same day.
