Chicago Resident is Laid to Rest in Roland Cemetery - Funeral Held From Wierson Residence on Tuesday Afternoon
The funeral of John Tunis, of Chicago, who died January 29, 1910, was held from the W. T. Wierson residence east of town last Tuesday afternoon after which the remains were laid to rest in the Roland cemetery. Rev. G. Smedal, pastor of the Bergen congregation, conducted the funeral rites.
John Tunis was nearly 78 years old at the time of his death, the cause of his demise being cerebral hemorrhage. He leaves a wife to mourn his death, they having no children. He had no relatives here, but his wife is a sister of Mrs. Marie Sheldahl, of this place, and Mrs. W. T. Wierson was reared in their home until she was nearly grown. Short funeral services were held in Chicago, after which Mr. and Mrs. Wierson and his bereaved wife brought the remains here for burial. Mrs. Tunis expects to remain here indefinitely.
