H. H. BAKKA DIED

Halvor H. Bakka of Thompson, a former resident of Roland, died Friday at the Irish hospital in Forest City, following an operation for obstruction of the bowels. He was sick only a short time.

Halvor H. Bakka was born April 9, 1862, at Saude, Ryfylke, Norway, and died May 26, 1933, at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 17 days.

He came to America in June 1893, locating at Roland where he lived for 17 years. In the spring of 1910 he moved to Winnebago county and lived on a farm a mile west of Thompson until his death last week.

He was married to Gurina Enge in Norawy on December 12, 1891. He is survived by his wife and four sons and three daughters, Bertha Oftendal of Stewartville, Minn., Hilda Riskedahl of Wells, Minn., Henry of Vernon, Tex., Martin of Chicago, Ill., Harold of St. Paul, Minn., Nathan and Gertrude at home.

He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Fagerland of McCallsburg and Mrs. Bertha Rafdahl of Ryfylke, Norway. Three sisters and two brothers have perceded him in death., Anna, Martha, Marie, Hadle and Lars.

The funeral was held at Thompson Sunday, Rev. J. J. Skarpness and Rev. Hans F. Oakland officiating. Those from Roland in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fagerland, Mrs. Malinda Bakka, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Olson, Mrs. O. F. Olson and Obert C.Olson.
